St. Pat’s & 4th Grade Class featured in the Home Reporter honoring the life of Sweet Sally Sunshine

Our September 21st Dress Down, along with St. Patrick Parish’s Fall Fest fundraiser, were highlighted in a recent edition of The Home Reporter newspaper as part of their feature story about how Bay Ridge and the surrounding community was honoring the life of “Sweet Sally Sunshine” Sally Kabel. Sally, a fixture in both Bay Ridge and Breezy Point, survived leukemia, however the harsh treatments took a toll, and she passed away on September 19, 2018.

In honor of September being Pediatric Cancer Month, and in remembrance of Sally, St. Patrick Catholic Academy joined schools across our district and our faculty and students participated in a Gold & Yellow Dress Down Day, proceeds from which were donated to the Kabel Family. Monies earned during the parish Fall Fest later that evening were also donated to the Kabel’s.

Check out the 4th Grade along with their teacher, Ms. Nordbo, along with the rest of the story as it appeared in the September 28th edition of The Home Reporter below.  You can also read the story online by clicking here.
